CMR Line ND4 Diesel Locomotive - HO DC (DCC Ready)

ND4 diesel locomotive is an Alstom product that produced in 1970s’for mainline freighting. “French blue" is what Chinese railfans call it. It had excellent performance and with advance design back in the days. 50 were imported.

Because of ND4 locomotive has advanced design and outstanding performance, it largely contributed to railways as well as the economy in China. After decades of usage, demostic workshops tried to replace the aged diesel engine crankshaft by the new which made by themselves, and it was consumed very soon due to the poor toolings that led to low manufactural precision. Later than 1983, ND4 had to retired because it was too expersive to purchase the original parts from France. That price digit was huge to China back then. On 11th April 2012, after decades of restoration, the only one left ND4-015 was finally refurbished and displayed under the roof of Beijing Railway Museum.
